Markitect

I was invited to produce some ‘off the shelf’ designs for prefabrication at Graven hill self-build development near Bicester

I produced a few designs, branding them with my site nickname ‘Markitect’. The designs were developed in partnership with prefabrication firm Beattie Passive.

When I was showing drawings, that also used the branding, to a panel of Architects for the North Street project, I soon received communication from the Architect’s Registration Board.

I was invited to ‘cease and desist’ with threat of prosecution, claim using the term ‘Markitect’ was literally to impersonate an architect. CIAT supported them, and I abandoned the name, the notion of being involved at Graven Hill, including my partnership with Beattie Passive. This set me up well for what was to come at ‘The AT Awards’.
